STUART SWINBANK FCA

Director

Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Management and Chemical Sciences from UMIST, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales

Experience/specialisms: I have experience of working closely with a number of owner-managed businesses including a number of doctor practices. I provide an all round service from bookkeeping and management reporting to planning and financial decision making. Prior to Sanders Swinbank I worked as a manager for 2 firms of Chartered Accountants based in Darlington and Middlesbrough.

Outside work: I am married to Jill and have three adult sons. We live on and manage the family farm in County Durham where we keep a small flock of sheep.

JEN NEWSOME FMAAT

Senior Client Manager

Qualifications: Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians

Experience/specialisms: I joined Sanders Swinbank in June 2000 and manage a portfolio of clients specialising in family & owner managed businesses covering a wide range of business sectors, and not-for-profit organisations.  I provide a range of services including accountancy, management accounts, bookkeeping, business & personal taxation and payroll.  I also provide ongoing support & advice as well as providing software support to clients managing their own bookkeeping & VAT.

Outside work: I enjoy reading & listening to music, coastal & countryside walks (avoiding cows whenever possible) and enjoy a variety of armchair sports watching.

KATIE WALTON BA FCCA

Senior Client Manager

Qualifications: BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance from the University of Teesside, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants

Experience/specialisms: I manage a variety of clients and provide accounts, tax and on going advice and support to a range of businesses. I also specialise in medical accounts and have significant knowledge of the NHS pension scheme.

Outside work: I am married to Chris and live in the heart of our family farm with our son Lucas, when not being mum, I am a keen horse rider and spend most of my free time riding and competing my horses.

SANDRA CHOWNS-SMITH MAAT

Senior Client Manager

Qualifications: Member of The Association of Accounting Technicians

Experience/specialisms: I trained with Grant Thornton and then moved to a manufacturing company followed by an international marketing company to gain experiences. Following a maternity break, in 1996 I went back in to practice and really enjoy the diversity of the work and meeting the clients. I joined the company in 2006 I deal with a variety of clients, proving a whole range of services, including financial accounts, taxation, superannuation, on going advice and support. I specialise in the medical sector, with a portfolio of dispensing and non dispensing practices.

Outside work: In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with family and friends and enjoy being a Grandma. I love to watch most sports and follow my childhood football time Oxford United. I am a volunteer dog walker for the Dog Trust.

GEORGE SWINBANK BA ACA

Client Manager

Qualifications:  Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA), BA Joint honours University of Leeds

Experience/specialisms: With over 12 years experience in the accounts and financial service industry, I provide a range of accounts and tax services to clients. This includes ongoing compliance and tax planning work, company formation and at the other end retirement from business.

Over the next 10 years we are set to see a number of changes in tax and reporting requirements for partnerships and individuals. I will guide clients through this change by helping them utilise software such as Xero to make this transition as effortless as possible.

My specialisms are in the medical and agriculture sectors.

Outside Work: I spend as much time as possible with my son and help out on the family farm.

TRACEY BIHARI

Office Administrator/Receptionist

Experience/Specialisms: I joined Sanders Swinbank in June 2016. I am the first point of contact for the clients, either by telephone or face to face. I provide payroll services to a number of our clients and also give support to the client management team. I deal with Health and Safety matters including First Aider where I am a qualified First Aider.

Outside work: I am married to Tony and I enjoy keeping fit at the gym, socialising with friends, going on holidays abroad and I also like listening to music and watching boxed sets on the TV.

JON OLSEN

Client Manager

Qualifications: BSc Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Northumbria

Experience/specialisms: I began my career at Sage where I spent my time becoming an expert with all the Sage software packages before moving on to gain experience as a financial controller in number of small businesses. I joined Sanders Swinbank in 2016 where I manage a variety of clients, from sole trader to limited company, specialising in farmers and the construction industry. Due to my past experience I also provide software support to clients managing their own bookkeeping and payroll.

Outside Work: I am a keen sports fan so my spare time is usually taken up with whatever sport is in season at the time. I am also the treasurer of a whisky appreciation club within which we sample various rare or recommended whiskies.
